A source at Channel 10 informs me Bob Lord has pulled out of the final debate against John Shadegg. Lord and Shadegg debated on Channel 12′s “Sunday Square Off” on Oct. 5 and on Channel 8′s “Horizon” on Oct. 13. The final debate was to be held this week on Channel 10.
It seems Lord has changed his tune since issuing this press release on Aug. 14:
Bob Lord officially challenged John Shadegg to three debates, Lord’s campaign for Congress announced Thursday.
The Lord campaign mailed a certified letter
(view letter) to Shadegg’s campaign on July 30, challenging Shadegg to debates. Shadegg’s campaign confirmed receipt of the letter.“Every day, voters tell me that they are tired of the way Washington has been dealing with the critical issues we face,” Lord wrote in the letter. “I know we have many strong disagreements about the direction Washington needs to take, but I’m sure we can agree that the voters deserve to see those differences laid out in debates.”
…
“We will give the people of District 3 a clear understanding of our positions and records,” Lord said. “It’s time let voters know where we stand and let them choose. Will you join me in these debates?”
The Lord campaign is still awaiting a response from Shadegg’s campaign.
Perhaps Lord wants to cut back on his campaign makeup expenses.
